Upon landing, defeat the three enemies inside, and be sure to check the bags of purple powder in the kitchen to the left, adding another note to your Board. Head up to the top floor of the complex that you can reach, and you’ll want to have a run-up to jump across the wooden boards into the building across the street. Interact with the note on the glass and the doors themselves to add two pieces of evidence to your Board. On the ground floor, you’ll find a pipe in a side room next to the locked glass doors. You’ll encounter a number of enemies in this area, a couple per floor of the complex, but you’ll find plenty of bottles to throw and help you take them down. You can either head left through the open door or climb the wall across the entry courtyard to arrive in a junkies’ flat. Head through the door on the left to enter an apartment complex. From this point on, you will gain a multiplier on the right side of the screen for every successive enemy defeated, which you will lose should you get hit. After whittling his Structure down and initiating a takedown, you’ll overpower and catch him with his own blade, executing him as the screen turns to black.Head to the right to vault a fence and face two enemies on the opposite side. With the stick, your damage output will be considerably higher this early in the game, and can be thrown which will more often than not hit its target and stun Fajar, further opening him up to combos. If you approach these (either in a couple of seconds breathing room you can create for yourself, or during the sprint away from Fajar’s bamboo ambush) there will be numerous sticks for you to pick up and use that or you can dodge into some of the fences to break them and obtain a stick that way. Whilst not immediately noticeable, around the outskirts of this bamboo arena you’ll note some bamboo fences. His blade swipes tend to be high attacks too, so some well-timed ducking can also save you some health in this phase. This is a move where blocking is recommended, as opposed to an attempt at a parry or dodge, as focusing on parrying the couple of swipes he takes immediately after once back on the ground can leave him open to a light/heavy combo. This allows you to immediately U-turn and get in some solid hits.įajar will occasionally pull back slightly from his standard blade strikes, where he will instantaneously summon a bamboo shoot out of the ground to bounce off of into a roundhouse kick. Though this pounce from Fajar can cover a LOT of ground, if you sprint continuously during this move, he will always fall short. An even safer bet is to sprint in as straight a line as possible away from the direction of the pulsing bamboo cluster. This can be blocked, but is far easier to dodge and reserve your block, and subsequent Structure allowance, for follow-up attacks. This signals that Fajar is about to launch out with a downwards knife strike. Be prepared to dodge, as the camera will focus on a pulsating noise coming from whichever bamboo cluster is closest. Now that you’re in the bamboo forest, Fajar will spring into one of the bamboo clusters, out of view. The rows of flower pots can be vaulted to gain a couple of seconds to recompose, but Fajar has a tendency to pursue you even still.Īfter breaking his Structure, through well-timed hits and parries, a cutscene will ensue with the surroundings shifting to a bamboo forest and Fajar sheds his rags and begins brandishing a blade. It’s worth noting that should too much distance grow between you and him, he will repeat the launch attack from the beginning of the fight to close the gap. If you strategize your investments in abilities at the Dragon Shrines you’ve encountered thus far, raise your Structure a couple of times in the Age section of the shrine, and use the final shrine in this level (halfway down the overgrown long winding alleyway) to invest 4,000 Score, should you have built that amount up, to improve the impact of parrying on your opponent's Structure.įajar will alternate between punch combos and mid to high kicks, the latter of which he tends to utilize more than any other move in this first phase. You’ll want to sidestep dodge this move, following up with a string of light attacks, comboing into a stun if you have one unlocked. As the cutscene ends, Fajar will always begin the fight with a launch attack off the plant pots, soaring into the air, bringing his leg down in an unblockable kick (visible below). After heading up the ramp in the bamboo-laden factory, you’ll watch a cutscene introducing Fajar - the man who cut your throat all those years ago.
