Change or try to repair some of the parts, then you can decant the old oil when the car is still up. The repairs and the shopping list can be found below. If it isn't, I take it back off and put the new bushing in second and there it is.Īnother stupid thing you wouldn't do IRL, replacing a control arm and reusing the old busings. This story order in Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 requires you to repair Salem Flamo. If the bushing on the list now has a green check, I go to the next part. I then install the part with the new 100% bushing in first and an older but still acceptable bushing second. I usually deselect the part and leave the bushing highlighted. Often only one is bad and there isn't a specific note on which one is which. The only time this is really an issue for me is on parts that have rubber bushings. As for me, i don't have that good memory. On the job description page, click on the stars next to the part and that will highlight what parts are broken so you can just put the new parts in those places. OR the blsted rocker arms UNLESS you can remember exactly which part went in each hole. They have improved but they really can do with more places to drive your cars. The second one really got on my tits so I quit. However, on a good note i'm still playing the game which says a lot. It's like some kind of sadistic roulette! Oh, While i'm on a rant the fricking search box in the warehouse does not work. And the flogging parts fixing? It says I have a 95% chance of fixing the part but it seems that sodding 5% chance of NOT fixing the part comes up WAYYY too often. As for me, i don't have that good memory. What hacks me off is you have to replace some parts 100% and if you have like 8 plugs you need to pull along with other stuff then the game will flag as not complete unless you replace ALL the plugs new. I just figure that it's JUST a game and not get too flustered with it. I discovered this after stripping the engine right down to the block and when stripping out the engine bay, of course the last part removed was the air filter base! Hahaha Best moment of the game so far.Yeah, the game has definate Mechanic No-no you wouldn't do in the real world, such as replacing brake parts on one side of the axle and not the other side plus the oddities with the oil and filter ect. And Voila, a screw up was born and a part went undiscovered.Īs an aside, also for the searchers on parts not discovered - "Engine power has failed" has twice now turned out to be the air filter base of all things. I also suspect as wim1234 said up there, it's either a part that was missing from start, or a part that has to be dismanteled first to find it, but you maybe did not think about really dismanteling (let's say the 'order. I knew that I had done the gearbox but after an eight hour binge grinding, session, all orders were starting to blur!! As it turned out, this was one those cars where you can change the box without taking off the drive shaft. Ok so as you can't finish the job with any missing part (or unknown part), has to be a story order. I always take a moment to just stare at that shiny new build before putting it in the ol' rustbucket :)Īs for my screw up. Id be very grateful if someone could tell me. Ive found all the the parts excapt for the last 2 parts. ![]() ![]() Originally posted by Heet: Im on the story mission where a person bought a car from a dealership, and they were told it was new, but it wasnt. ![]() I got the rims and some 'timing' parts, but I can. Stand is absolutely awesome for complete rebuilds. Glad to help, I know it can get frustrating after a while haha. All Discussions Screenshots Artwork Broadcasts Videos Workshop News Guides Reviews. They do show up when you put engine back in but only if they were on engine to begin with though. Parts undiscovered does not show up when engine is on the stand, so it is easier to keep track of your progress when parts get ticked/discovered as you go along. I would suggest that for long undiscovered lists, one strip the engine in the car. There are games that simulate flying a plane, games that simulate working in an office, and yes even a game that simulates what it’s like to be a goat. The ones that I have used were pretty spot on - except this one! I like to discover the partsīy myself and then use the lists in the guide for the shopping and/or emergencies. These days, there’s a simulator video game for everything. I have been using this guide for the story orders. In the interest of someone turning up here via the search, a short explanation follows. Thanks Tquel for being the only one who tried to help - much appreciated. As edited above, the undiscovered part turned out to be the drive shaft!
